Introduction

When My Pension Expert relocated into a new central office, the goal was to unify teams, improve efficiency, and create a workspace that reflected their strong brand identity.

Working closely with the client, Intec designed a flexible, people-focused environment that supports hybrid working, collaboration, and day-to-day productivity. Through smart zoning, adaptable layouts, and carefully planned spaces for focus and interaction, the result is a modern workplace built to meet the demands of a fast-paced, customer-driven organisation.

Objectives

My Pension Expert had previously operated across three separate offices with almost 100 team members in total, but it was decided to bring everyone together in one location so we were asked if we could help with the planning and design of their new town centre office.

They wanted their new office space to be efficient and practical, but it also needed to supportive of a wide range of working styles, whilst also reflecting the very distinctive My Pension Expert branding.

Despite being a call-centre-led organisation, the new space had to be able to facilitate hybrid work, whilst also supporting face-2-face client meetings together with online customer interactions, ensuring versatility while helping to drive productivity.

The Plan

Maximising the use of the new space was central to our challenge. We achieved this by carefully zoning the workspace using flexible partition walls and dividers – with each section finished in the company’s corporate colours – helping to balance safety and clarity of purpose along with informal team collaboration.

Each zone was designed with the specific needs of its department in mind, while breakout areas and private meeting rooms were specially designed to encourage collaboration and interaction, whilst sumptuously upholstered privacy pods provided a dedicated space for focused work; the end-result is a creative and highly innovative workplace that promotes productivity and interaction, while supporting a wide variety of daily tasks.

Outcome

The result was a modern, flexible, and efficient workspace that seamlessly brought the entire team under one roof. Designed to support the demands of a busy call centre, the environment balances functionality with a strong, brand-led aesthetic that encourages collaboration and team spirit.

To ensure the layout worked effectively across departments, careful planning and organisation were essential. A hot-desking system was introduced to support agile working, with interchangeable desks allowing for flexible schedules without disruption. Clear departmental zoning helped minimise noise while maintaining close collaboration, complemented by secure lockers to support clutter-free desk sharing.

Breakout and meeting areas were also integrated, creating dedicated spaces for private discussions and client interactions, and achieving the perfect balance between focus and teamwork.
