Early objectives…
Trust Care Limited are a Doncaster based company who own and manage several elderly residential care homes spread throughout South Yorkshire. When they moved into a brand-new two storey office space, it mainly comprised of two large, but otherwise featureless rooms. They asked us if we could help turn these big open-plan areas into smaller, dedicated spaces that would be suitable for their daily needs. To take full advantage of the natural light provided by the large windows that dominated the front elevation, we planned to use airy floor-to-ceiling glass partition walls, whilst some thoughtfully placed stud walls allowed a degree of privacy when required. We presented our initial vision to the management team for a functional, modern and highly efficient workspace. Managers would benefit from semi-glazed private offices, and the team would have access to a large conference room, along with an informal meeting room.

Let there be light…
Smart thinking and space planning was absolutely essential for this project and so we worked closely with the client at every stage. We carefully mapped out every area to ensure optimal workflow and productivity for all members of the Trust Care team. One of the main priorities was to understand how the sun would provide natural light throughout the seasons and at different times of the working day, so we could preserve the natural light across all work zones, which ensured that newly created areas didn’t feel either dark and closed off, which would have a negative impact on the airy feel and positive energy of the light-filled workspace that we were so keen to retain.

Customised storage…
During the planning phase, it quickly became clear that personal desk-side storage and filing as well as bulk storage were essential for the daily running of their operations, so we incorporated under-desk pedestals with integrated filing sections to help maximize storage space. Additional free-standing wall cabinets and bookcases with complimentary finishes maintained a clean, cohesive aesthetic throughout, and because they were originally specified as modular, free-standing units, this allowed the potential for them to be easily relocated in future if required, which is highly likely within a fast-growing dynamic business.

Finishing Touches…
Branding was a key part of the Trust Care visitor experience, so we incorporated their vibrant orange colourway selectively on feature walls for a burst of vivid colour, whilst personalised custom logos were applied to the glass partitions, which not only conforms with UK health and safety standards but also reinforces the brand identity. The end-result is a professional and striking, yet incredibly inviting workspace that reflects the company’s personality from the moment you walk in.
The Outcome...
The final result is a workspace that balances professionalism, flexibility, and efficiency.
Trustcare now has a thriving office environment that’s tailored to their daily operations,
with the added benefit of space to grow and evolve still further as the business continues to expand and grow.
