

Objectives...
My Pension Expert had previously operated across three separate offices with almost 100 team members in total, but it was decided to bring everyone together in one location so we were asked if we could help with the planning and design of their new town centre office. They wanted their new office space to be efficient and practical, but it also needed to supportive of a wide range of working styles, whilst also reflecting the very distinctive My Pension Expert branding. Despite being a call-centre-led organisation, the new space had to be able to facilitate hybrid work, whilst also supporting face-2-face client meetings together with online customer interactions, ensuring versatility while helping to drive productivity.

The Plan...
Maximising the use of the new space was central to our challenge. We achieved this by carefully zoning the workspace using flexible partition walls and dividers – with each section finished in the company’s corporate colours – helping to balance safety and clarity of purpose along with informal team collaboration. Each zone was designed with the specific needs of its department in mind, while breakout areas and private meeting rooms were specially designed to encourage collaboration and interaction, whilst sumptuously upholstered privacy pods provided a dedicated space for focused work; the end-result is a creative and highly innovative workplace that promotes productivity and interaction, while supporting a wide variety of daily tasks.

Smart Space Planning...
To ensure the layout worked seamlessly across departments, our planning and organisational brief had to be precise. Key features included:
- Hot Desking: With a flexible work style in place, desks were designed to be interchangeable, supporting fast-changing work schedules without causing disruption.
- Departmental Zoning: Each team had its own clearly defined area, helping to reduce noise and distractions while maintaining close proximity for collaboration wherever necessary.
- Lockers for Staff: To avoid office clutter and ensure smooth desk-sharing systems, secure lockers were provided in each section, enabling employees to use a hot-desk setup that also allowed them to store personal items safely.
- Breakout & Meeting Areas: Dedicated spaces were incorporated for private discussions, and client interactions, ensuring a good overall balance between teamwork and focus.

Outcome...
The result was a modern, flexible, and efficient workspace that successfully and seamlessly brought the whole team under one roof. The design not only supported the operational needs of a busy call centre but also created an attractive, brand-led environment that was designed from the outset to help to nurture a strong team-spirit, supporting the incredibly adaptable, agile working style of a modern workspace.
